Facility receives praise from Kaiser Permanente |

Walnut Whitney Care Center was recently recognized for excellence by Kaiser Permanente for care of patients at its Carmichael facility.
According to Marty Gittleman, Walnut Whitney’s executive director, the 126-bed inpatient rehabilitative center, which features a separate wing for Kaiser patients, received two awards, including one for the quality of its therapy and the other citing the high level of nursing for each patient.
“The therapy award was for the effectiveness of what we provide and for how well our residents are responding and improving during their therapy sessions,” Gittleman said. “This particular award was for the entire year of sustained quality.”
Gittleman said the nursing award was for following Kaiser protocol for the residents and providing “excellent nursing care.”
“This is a real boost for the morale of our facility,” Gittleman said. “Our staff is thrilled to be recognized for all their hard work.”
Walnut Whitney Care Center is one of 14 area inpatient rehabilitation facilities owned by HorizonWest Healthcare, Inc., based in Rocklin.
