| Description: |
Due to functional growth, we have anewly created position for Regional MDS Consultant.
Under supervision of the Corporate Compliance Officer, the Regional MDS Consultant is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal laws pertaining to the MDS and related MDS/RAI processes; functions as a resource to the community MDS Coordinators; conducts ongoing MDS reviews at the community level; develops and implements MDS in-services; and in conjunction with the Director of Financial Management ensures optimization of third party reimbursements and conformity with state and federal guidelines. The Regional MDS Nurse Consultant reports to and is directly responsible to the Corporate Compliance Officer. Local and overnight travel is required.

| Education: |
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
License: Current, active California license as a Registered Nurse
Work Experience: At least three years experience in long term geriatric nursing care as MDS Coordinator.
Previous training experience at a regional and/or corporate level preferred.
Must be computer literate.
Traveling is required - local, as well as some overnight travel within California.
Must be AANAC certified, or have the ability to become certified within 3 months.
Freedom from illegal use of drugs, and freedom from use and effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in this position.
